VGF's in Hawaii

I got a surprise phonecall from my Very Good Friend, Justin in Hawaii. At first I was a little peeved because I had been interupted from a good movie Mum and I were watching at least 5 times. I am NOT exaggerating! And since Justin rarely calls it just seemed like fate was against me... I was NOT going to get to watch this movie! But I am glad he called. We got to talk a lot about lots of different things and people. It was really fun to hear about his lady troubles; and the best part was he dad and I were able to laugh about it later! Just kidding! Well, sort of.

We also were able to talk about my other Very Good Friend, Renae, also staying in Hawaii. It sounds like she just can't keep the guys off her. Don't worry, Nae, just keep telling them your already writing a missionary... or three. Hey, it's not a lie exactly, it's just that they don't know you and Nathan, Leimson and Eric aren't actually girlfriend/boyfriend(s).

Anyway, the fact of the matter is, I love getting calls from you guys... or well, Justin at least since I've never actually gotten a call from RENAE!!! (What's up with that?! You're having all the fun and you just leave me here to rot?!) I love you both lots and hope your having a great time partying... I uh... ahem... mean STUDYING! Riiiight! Well, just don't have too much fun without me! Love you guys so much!

College Essay

Okay, well, I have a problem. I need to write a college essay so that I can, well, you know, go to college. But the prompt is stupid. I mean, I've read lots of stupid prompts but this one takes the cake! (And that's not fair!) So, here it is:

"Is there anything that sets you apart from other applicants based on experience, education, etc."

How am I supposed to know?! I mean, there are hundreds, if not thousands of new applicants every year! How am I supposed to know what makes me different if I don't know what makes them all the same!? Good grief! (And that's what I'm feeling; grief!) So, if anyone has anything they may be able to contribute to my essay it would be appreciated. Especially those of you that have had to write college essays before, or may have had this prompt before. Thanks a lot!

What I think Is.....

This is just concerning the Terri Shiavo case. Quite frankly, I think the protesters should bug off and let the woman die with her family and friends in PEACE!!!! Man, are they annoying or what!? I mean, it is sad that the lady has to die, then again it's really, really sad that she's had to "live" for 15 years in a persistent vegetative state and that no one would let her die before this!

But what makes all of this whole thing soooooo much more depressing is the protesters. I mean, this is a poor woman's life on the line here and all they have to do is sit in front of her hospice making lots of noise and political statements! Is that going to fix anything? She's still going to die and even if they put the feeding tube back in, she's still going to be in a vegetative state, and no one will be able to really tell the difference.

Don't these people have families to look after? You know, like, their OWN kids or something. I understand if they want to share their condolences with the parents or something, but it's not like they knew Terri or anything. They don't know anything about her! Sure they know what she's been doing in the last 15 years, but it's not like that has (or is going to) changed a lot. They don't know anything of her personality or sense of humor or what makes her mad or anything. All they know is that she is a being that can be turned into a statement. Good grief. Now that is a depressing way to die.

Headlines!

Okay, I made it into the newspaper, not that I never have before or anything, it's just that this is the first time I've ever made it while having a blog. Here's the part of the article that talks about me. It's not a very big part or anything, but it's something.

(NOTE: The Chamorro word "Ayuyu" means "Coconut Crab" and is pronounced "Ad-zu-zu". MISA = Marianas Interscholastic Sports Assocciation.)

"Mallory Conner of KHS Ayuyus also worked her way into the select cast, playing with consistency throughout the entire season for coach Francis San Nicolas. Conner's ballhandling, sweet touch from the perimeter, and determination to fight until the end earned her respect from the other players in the league. ... Each player was recognized by MISA shortly after the boys and girls championship bouts Monday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium."

If you would like to read the rest of the article it's at www.saipantribune.com. Just look under the SPORTS section and the title, "MHS Lady Dolphins dominate All-Star selection".

MVP!

Okay! Now this is cool! I missed school yesterday because I wasn't feeling very well. When I got there today, I found out that my basketball team voted me as Most Valuable Player. I got a little trophy and everything! It's pretty cool. I was pretty excited to tell Mum. Now I get to tell Dad when he gets home.

I can't wait until school gets out. Just one more day. I just need to last one more day and then I get a week and a half off for spring break! I can do this!

HEY PEOPLE!

Okay, well this is what this is all about. I'm leaving here in like, 3 months and so I figured it'd probably be a good idea to have something my family and friends all over the world could always read and look at and see how I was doing. Ain't that thoughtful!? So, for all you people out there that find my life irresistably interesting you may read this at any time. (Yes, if you must, you may roll your eyes and think to yourselves, "wow, she's full of herself".)

But trully, if you are concerned, worrying, interested, nosey, or most likely bored, just check up on me and perhaps it will trigger some deep emotion you have hidden inside yourself and cause you to right me an email. HA!

Well, that's really all I have to say at the moment. Over and out.
